Cop injured in firing in UP’s Pratapgarh | Allahabad News

PRAYAGRAJ: A constable sustained gunshot injuries after a group of unidentified miscreants opened fire on policemen near Ajhara Bazar area under the limits of Lalganj police station of Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district late on Thursday night.
The constable identified as Raj Kishore Chauhan was admitted at SRN hospital in Prayagraj for treatment.
Pratapgarh police said that cops posted at PRV 4401 had rushed to Ajhara Bazar area after receiving information that a group of unidentified miscreants were targeting a bike showroom belonging to Vinay Jaiswal at around 1.30pm. When the police team started a search operation for miscreants, the group of unidentified miscreants who were hiding somewhere opened fire on policemen of PRV, leaving a constable injured.
Miscreants somehow managed to escape from the spot.
Police said that constable Rajkishore Chauhan sustained wounds on his left arm and his condition was stated to be stable.
A case under section 382,457,511 and 307 of IPC has been registered in this connection.
Two police teams have been formed for further investigation.
